Fridays I try to make into Catblogging days, but I'm afraid I just don't have too many more pictures of them. Don't worry, they will come, but today I have a special treat.
Regular readers will be aware that we've been waiting with breathless anticipation for the orchid to bloom. For more information, see here and here.
Well, the time has come. Without further ado, I present the first few blooms of the Colmanara "Jaguar" Orchid:
Beautiful, isn't it?
I also did a little hiking last weekend and took some photos. And yeah, in case you're wondering, that's snow.

WOW, the orchid is amazing! And amazingly exotic.
Hiking pictures are great, but they include snow, so by default they're less appealing:) (for some of us)
Sdadly, I didn't take any of the rather large fields of it in which I lost the trail and had to turn back. It wasn't actually cold. Just, you know, snow. Still lots of fun, though.
The orchid is great, but I'm loving the hiking photos more for nostalgia reasons -- I've got a bunch of similar photos in a shoebox somewhere from back in the day. The Snowies, I assume? What I wouldn't give for a hike like that about now!
Snowies is right. I don't plan on living here after graduation, so I figured I might as well get my fill of some of the benefits.
