Quick Note on Comments

| | Comments (2)

Just a quick note: as part of my never-ending battle against Evil (comment spammers), I've had to enable comment moderation. This means that your comment will not show up right away; I must approve it first. Generally, I'm not too far from a PC, but it is possible it could take some time. I wish I didn't have to do that, but they've forced my hand.

It is my policy to only moderate for spam, not content, at least not without highly offensive content, and then only after conversation with the author or exhaustion of attempts to contact him/her.

Happy commenting.

I know some comment software can require your commenters to sign-in with a recognized username, etc.. Just a thought. There are clearly both ups and downs to this idea.

Yeah, I have the capability to do that, but I hate that idea I think even more than having to approve all comments.
