Summer Heat

| | Comments (2)

My house gets sweltering.  It's not yet 11:30 am, and my indoor temperature has topped 83, and I expect it to climb.  Yesterday, it was 97 when I came home from work.

My favorite strategy?  Put a couple t-shirts in the cold water rinse cycle, then wear them, replacing each as it dries.  The rest go into the refrigerator until I'm ready for them.  It's magic!

It's days like these that I can't wait until I move into my new house, where I'll have a basement and much better overall temperature stability.  It may still get warm, but not like this.

Why is it that hot in Laramie?

Why don't you have AC?

Does your new place have AC?

I myself hide like a Morlock during the daylight hours, here in Ames. With 80+ temps and almost 80% humidity, going outside sucks.

Stupid global warming. I hope they start seeding the oceans soon so we can all go back to complaining about global cooling.

Dude, are you kidding? It's not that odd to get that hot in Laramie. My new place does not have AC, but it doesn't need it. The hottest it got, all through August, was about 84, 85 degrees. That's nothing, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm also interested in what you think they'd be seeding the oceans with that it would cool things down. If it's that easy, let's do it.
