Incomprehensible Packaging

| | Comments (0)

I just purchased a couple packs of various underclothing.  Nothing fancy—t-shirts are on the list.  It must be longer than I thought since the last time I bought these sorts of things—they are apparently now perishable.  I say this because both packages feature “Reclosable Bag.”  And the advertising doesn’t lie.  One can, indeed, open the bag, remove a single item, and “reclose” the bag.  There’s a flap with adhesive just for that purpose.

This seems absurd to me.  To the extent that one might need to remove a single t-shirt from the package of four, I don’t really see the advantage of sealing the bag back up.  And while we’re at it, why would anyone need to remove a single t-shirt?  Don’t most people dump their new things into the laundry to wash when they first get it?  It’s just weird.
