Here We Go Again

Just in case you think I never post unless it snows, well, this will not disabuse you of that notion.  It’s snowing again, like it did on Saturday.

But enough about snow.

It has recently come to my attention that I only have three months left in my current job.  This is both exciting and sad, considering my love for my current work.  In another month, it will be time to start looking at plane tickets for The Vacation (that sounds a bit more elegant than The Trip).  In the meantime, I have some supplies to get.  Most significantly, I’d like to get a good bag that I won’t mind hauling around for two weeks (the MEI Voyageur comes highly recommended).  I’ll also need to pick up a few odds and ends (phrasebook seems a good idea), but overall the ticket is the big expense.

The ticket purchase is also the big thing that will make The Vacation seem real.  Right now, for all my research and tooling around Tallinn on Google Earth, it’s still this hypothetical thing that could happen.  But once it’s booked, there’s no going back.

Incidentally, I’m tentatively planning to arrange a deliberate layover in London for a couple days.  Anyone have any suggestions on relatively cheap places to stay?  I’m not picky about the accommodations, other than safety.
